Freegal is a downloadable music service, similar to iTunes, with the exception that all of the songs in Freegal's catalog are free for you to download. You may now also stream music from Freegal! All you need to access the catalog is your library card number and last name. There is no software to download, and there are no digital rights management (DRM) restrictions on the songs.
Yes. You can download songs from Freegal using library computers but you must either save it to a CD, DVD or flash drive, email it to yourself as an attachment, or upload it to your cloud storage such as Google Drive.
You may download up to three songs per week. Each Sunday at midnight, your weekly download counter is reset to zero and you can download three more songs for the week. If you have more than one cardholder using the same computer, the browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, or Firefox) must be closed and reopened before another cardholder can log in.
